Catholic Kings’ gold «excelentes»

Found here (ES):

Coins (gold «excelentes») of the Catholic Monarchs found in the Hospital de Santa Cruz in Toledo.
On the obverse of the excelentes, the image of the kings appears with a legend that would read «Ferdinand and Isabella, by the grace of God, king and queen of Castile and Leon».
The reverse shows the coat of arms of the Kings with the Eagle of St. John, with a legend that reads «In the shadow of your wings protect us, Lord».

About the «excellents»:

The excellent emerged during the 15th century as part of a modernising programme carried out by Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon.2

From 1497 the excellent took the standard of the Venetian ducat to facilitate trade. In general, the excellents were coins of great prestige and were used especially in long-distance trade. Their use continued until several decades after the death of the Catholic Monarchs.2

They also had a propagandistic use. On the excellent, the two kings are depicted in pairs as a symbol of harmony between the crowns of Castile and Aragon.
